Donde el bosque crece

Hay personas que ven un lobo, otros un zorro. 
Hay gente que mira y encuentra una muchacha y otros ven una Caperucita adulta.
También están los que se fijan en lo oscuro del bosque y aquellos que solo observan el claro.
Algunos piensan en lo feroz del animal, otros contemplan la fuerte calma de la muchacha.

Me gusta ser ilustrador por todas esas miradas que sostiene una imagen.

There are people who see a wolf, others a fox.
There are people who look and find a girl, and others see an adult Little Red Riding Hood.
There are also those who notice the darkness of the forest and those who only observe the light.
Some think about the ferocity of the animal, and others contemplate the strong calm of the girl.

I like to be an illustrator for all those looks that hold an image.
In Arenas de San Pedro I will talk about this poster and about the looks of an illustrator.

She set out to tell the world how they suppress our desires. 

Said she wouldn't back down till the rules were amended. 

And she didn't give a fuck who she offended.

Feria del libro de Salamanca

He ilustrado el cartel de la 36ª Feria Municipal del Libro de Salamanca. Contento de que estos pájaros hayan volado por las calles de la ciudad. También estuve hablando sobre cómo veo y siento la profesión de ilustrador y explicando un poco mis procesos de trabajo en la charla "El folio en blanco y otros abismos".

Dejo aquí mi explicación sobre el cartel...

El libro como refugio, frente a los días de lluvia o las tardes desérticas.
El libro como un hogar, nómada, portátil, viajero.
El libro como respiro, ensueño y pensamiento frente al mundo absurdo.
Me pregunto si esa mezcla de incertidumbre y aventura es la que siente un pájaro al alzar el vuelo.
Exactamente igual a la emoción de abrir un libro por primera vez.

I created the 36th Salamanca Book Fair poster.  I also talked about how I see and feel the illustration and I explained my work´s processes in the talk: "The blank page and other abysses". Thanks to everyone who came out! And thanks to Salamanca´s libraries and Ilumina program.

Aquí os dejo el proceso de trabajo, las primeras ideas y el cartel acabado. Jugando con una estética medieval moderna propia del Decamerón o el libro del Buen Amor. ¡Gracias Pep, por contar conmigo y darme libertad para hacer el cartel!
